Cat Grooming Services

The Purr-fect Spa Day for Your Fur-Baby!

Many cat owners think that cats can just groom themselves, not realizing the importance of professional cat grooming.  When cats lick themselves, they're not actually cleaning and instead end up ingesting fur.

All that fur ingestion often leads to coughing up hairballs, as you know.  It can also build up in the cat's system, resulting in a dangerous blockage that can require surgery.

Regular cat grooming appointments reduce those risks and keeps cats clean right down to their skin.  Cats like being clean, and are much happier that way!  Imagine if you never took a shower or brushed your hair - that's what an ungroomed cat feels like.  Cats can even become more social because they feel cleaner.

Just like with dogs, it's best to start your cat's grooming appointments when they are a kitten.  There are many benefits to letting a professional provide cat grooming services on a regular basis.  Contact us today for pricing!

What are the benefits of cat grooming?

Fewer Mats - Your cat's hair can easily get tangled and matted, which can be uncomfortable or even painful. With regular cat grooming, you can keep your kitty's fur brushed and trimmed to a healthy length, which helps to keep mats away.  Fewer mats mean your cat will have less discomfort and a healthier coat overall.  De-matting your cat and brushing its coat stimulates the production of natural oils and distributes them to keep your pet's hair and skin moisturized and healthy.

Less Shedding - If someone in your home suffers from allergies, professional grooming can be an important part of ensuring that he or she can live comfortably with your cat. Cats who are groomed regularly shed less, because their coats are healthier. Some people misconstrue their allergies to be from their pets, when in fact, it’s actually pollen, dust and allergens your kitty picked up outside. Regular bathing helps you live comfortably with your pet.

Even if no one in your home has allergies, less shedding means less time dealing with cat hair on your furniture, clothes and other surfaces. When your cat sheds less, they are less likely to swallow large amounts of hair when self-grooming, so you will have fewer incidences of hairballs around your home.

Easier Identification of Skin Parasites - It’s not always easy to find fleas and ticks on your cat, but when they aren’t treated, they can cause serious health problems. During the grooming process, the groomer can easily locate parasites as he or her combs through your cat’s fur. This allows you to protect your cat’s health by starting treatment.

How long does the average visit last?

Most grooming visits take 2 - 3 hours to finish.

Do you have vaccination requirements?

All cats are required to have their rabies shot.  We do not provide rabies shots.

What can I do to make the appointment easier on my cat?

We all know cats can be a challenge when it comes to grooming.  That's why we suggest only bringing your cat in if they are familiar with the grooming process - something we recommend starting as early as possible in their kittenhood.

Before you bring your cat, please make sure that they've had a good night's rest.  Please feed them a light meal with water before their appointment.  Most cats need a few minutes to adjust when you first place them in their travel crate, so please make sure that your cat is comfortable before bringing them to the salon.

Will there be extra fees if my cat becomes unruly?

Cats that move around too much during the grooming process, bite, scratch, hiss, or otherwise attack us can incur an extra $20.00 fee.  In the case that this occurs, we will give you a call to make sure you're alright with us continuing before we finish their appointment.  If your cat is too difficult to groom, we'll have you come pick them up.

The $20.00 fee may also be required in cases of extreme fur matting, as we may have to perform a longer grooming procedure to work out excessively matted fur.
